How to use Ultrascope stethoscopes
Hold binaurals with eartips pointing away from your face (not towards your chest) and place in ears. Eartips should seat fully in your ear canal opening. Adjust for comfort.
Use light pressure to start.Pressing harder than necessary will block the very sounds you need to hear. Holding stethoscope head between your thumb and middle finger, apply (or release) pressure using index finger of the same hand.
To hear low frequencies (heart sounds) start with very light pressure.
To hear high frequencies (lung sounds) apply firmer pressure.
Use medium pressure for blood pressure and bowel sounds.
Take time to practice.
For loud environments, place entire hand over the UltraScope head and apply pressure with your palm.
Note: Normal usage may loosen the diaphragm, retaining ring and eartips. Check your scope occasionally and tighten these parts as necessary.
